chick fil a night

We had our very first event tonight!!!! It went so well!! I met 2 very interesting ladies tonight....
 The first was an elderly lady who had lost 2 children. A son as an adult (23 years) and a daughter at 6 months gestation. She asked us about our organization and she began to weep. She spoke fondly of her babies and said that she missed them even now. She really touched my heart....so much that I decided that we would give her an elephant. Apparently, we touched her heart too..because she gave us $50.oo. Before she left the restaurant, she caught my eye, and held up her elephant and mouthed "thank you" and she hugged the elephant and left. I was so touched by this lady that I was moved to tears.

 The 2nd lady was a lady that received one of our packages in January right when we first 'went public' with our Ian's Elephant page. She told us how special her elephant is to her....she sleeps with it....even on vacation. She told us how hard losing her son has been on her and that holding this little elephant gives her a some comfort. I cried with her. I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful lady and tell her that we are here for her whenever she needs to talk.

 We also had a ton of fun tonight! We had face painting to my wonderful friend Sarah( who has become our right hand woman...we love her so much) we had a coupon wheel led by my awesome friend Michele (who has the SWEETEST heart!!!!) we had elephant noises....and just an all around fun evening. When I get the totals in I will announce them and post pics :)
